Opening my own studio location has been one my biggest dreams as a photographer. Now that it is real I sometimes feel like a bystander while I watch it take on a life of it’s own. It’s amazing the transformation that has happened with my business when it became brick and mortar. It so much more tangible now. As I look around it is apparent that it has been festering in the back of my mind for quite a while because I didn’t need to purchase very much. I’ve been stashing items away in my basement for ‘one day when I own a studio’ and all I had to do was haul them out and clean them up a bit.
“Studio Before” I fell in love with the wide open space, not the black wall.
I fixed up some of my treasures with chalk paint! Oh my how I LOVE chalk paint! Thanks Sarah for turning me into one of ‘those’ 😉
I bought the best wall paint possible to cover the black in the least amount of time. Behr promised to cover in one coat and so I put it to the test and was greatly relieved that it did the job! I’ll never use anything else on my walls again!
“Studio After” The beauty of this space is that there are no walls to confine me and everything in it is portable so I push things around to suit the current session needs… or throw a party!
What was the nudge that made me step out and make this happen? It was a trip to New York I made with my Mom and daughter to celebrate our milestone birthdays together. We were three generations of women, together for a week, in a place that is full history and beauty that was so inspiring that I like to think it gave me the confidence. Or maybe it was turning 50 and realizing that time waits for no one….?
Anyway, it’s all here now and the studio has blossomed into an inviting and safe location. My faith in myself has been boosted knowing that I did it! I’m so inspired it is spilling out! You can do it too! If you’ve been wondering what it’s like to have a modern portrait made I encourage you to call and do it! I’ve seen the biggest transformations happen in everyday women right in front of my lens. If you don’t have a beautiful portrait of yourself yet you haven’t been to right photographer. My mission is to help you see your true beauty, it starts with one day but the effects are life long. I invite you to contact me and make a time to meet at the Studio (I’m in and out so call or email to be sure I’m there!) I’ll show you around and if you think we’re a fit, we can book a session. No pressure.
