Cameras don’t create beautiful pictures, people do! The camera is a tool and in experienced hands any camera will produce a beautiful picture. When it comes to portraits, they are created and are a collaboration between subject and photographer. As an experienced photographer my goal is to create a relaxed environment that will enable me to capture the nature of the people I photograph. When you book with me you can rest assured that you will receive my personal care and attention to detail so that you look natural in your images.
I can’t pose, can you teach me? Absolutely!!
There are many people who freeze in front of the camera and become self-conscious. When you book with me, all you need to do is follow along with my direction. I have studied posing and body language so you can enjoy the experience and trust that the results will be amazing! I am very patient and relaxed and we have fun during our sessions. It is important to me that you enjoy the process!
Why do you want to do a consultation? I just want regular pictures taken.
This will give us a chance to get to know each other and you can tell me what a ‘regular picture’ means to you. You will have the opportunity to see my studio, talk about other location and wardrobe ideas, learn what happens on the day of a photo shoot and be inspired by viewing some of the ways to display prints on my walls. There is no obligation to book a session, but if you are confident that I’m the photographer for you, we select a date for your special day!
What are the most popular ways to display my images?
I’m so glad you asked because there are many possibilities to preserve and display your images! Our signature product are the canvas gallery wraps. Each one is a piece of art in itself. When booking a session you will also have access to our current Product Guide that details many options. You can check my Pinterest board for ideas too.
What happens at my Viewing Appointment? Are you going to pressure me into buying? Not at all! I encourage you to use my artistic eye and print expertise. Your Viewing Appointment allows me to suggest print options specific to your session results. Like many things in life, unless you are experienced, you may not know which questions to ask until you go through the process and creating Wall Art can be a little daunting for some. I am present to guide you through the process, not pressure you into buying something you don’t want. Many people ask for digital files with good intentions of making prints but never actually get around to doing it. Then they are subject to the whim of the consumer lab that changes colour profiles to match their printer’s requirement. By purchasing professional prints from the artist, you can be assure that what you receive is how it was intended.
Clothing choices for portraits are important! Everything from your fingernails to the clothes you wear should be considered for your portrait session. Purchase that beautiful dress (leave the tags on to return it if need be), say yes to having your hair and makeup done and choose a colour pallette that flatters you! Wear clothes that fit well and that you feel awesome wearing and it will show in the final images.
