1 Stone = 14 pounds
The biggest reason women don’t want to be included in photographs is because they want to loose weight first. It makes me sad, because when I look at photos of my mom from years ago I see the most beautiful person in the world. Maybe she didn’t like her hair/weight/dress that day but she showed up for her portrait anyway… and now I have that print to cherish always! Below is my favourite quote because it reminds me to relax and enjoy myself in the skin that I am in. I am curvy, wrinkled, greying and owning every inch of it!
“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming “Wow! What a Ride!” ~Hunter S Thompson
So here’s a little secret for you. They way I think about it is this: “I am the only one who doesn’t really know what I look like” Think about that for a minute and let it sink it… Sure I have a mirror and it’s close but it’s reversed and my face is asymmetrical and I’ve never really seen myself the ‘right’ way around. It’s kind of heady if you think about it too long.
Time is something you can never get back and guess what, during that time that you are thinking about losing weight, you are getting older! Stop waiting, exist in portraits! Toss that stone in the water and forget about it!
